Privacy Policy

Short version: the calculator is anonymous. We only store anything when you ask for quotes — and then only what an installer needs to call you with a real price. We do not sell data, we do not run tracking ads, and this page is the complete list of what happens to your information.

§ 1What we collect

  • Calculator use: nothing is stored. Inputs are processed in your browser and discarded.
  • Quote requests: name, WhatsApp number, city/state, bill range, calculated system size, roof area (if given) and the page you submitted from.
  • Installer applications: company, contact person, phone, email, city, volumes and any message you add.
  • Technical logs: standard server logs (IP, timestamps) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.

§ 2How your data is used — and never used

Homeowner details are used for exactly one purpose: matching you with at most three installers serving your city, and checking that those installers actually called you. We do not sell your data, run advertising networks, build marketing profiles, or share your details with anyone beyond the matched installers and our own operations. Installer application data is used only for partner verification and onboarding.

§ 3Cookies

We use exactly one functional cookie: an admin login session for our own operations team. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics scripts and no cross-site trackers. If we ever add privacy-safe, non-identifying analytics, this policy will be updated first.

§ 4Retention and security

Lead records are kept while they are useful for matching and quality control, and purged on a rolling basis after that. Data is stored in an access-controlled database; only operations staff who need it to route and quality-check leads can see it.

§ 5Your rights (including under the DPDP Act)

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your data at any time, and to withdraw a quote request (we will tell the matched installers to stop contacting you). Write to the contact at the bottom of this page; we act within seven working days. This policy is written to align with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and will be updated as its rules are notified.

§ 6Grievance officer

Concerns go first to our grievance contact: legal@solarbachat.in, answered within seven working days. If unresolved, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once constituted under the DPDP Act.
